Hineni: Jewish Mindfulness Together

Hineni is our online kehillah (community) dedicated to Jewish mindfulness practice. Here, we embrace the ancient wisdom of our tradition to nurture presence and awareness in our modern lives.

Our Community Vision

We gather in the digital realm to create something profoundly real—a space where Jewish sacred texts become living guides for personal growth. Together, we practice being fully awake and aware, especially when life challenges us most.

We are especially aware that we live in challenging and uncertain times. And still, there is beauty in front of our eyes. In Hineni, we talk a lot about how to hold both pain and joy as we journey through life.

How We Gather

Our Hineni community meets bi-monthly for text study and spiritual practice, and each Friday night to welcome Shabbat via Zoom. Each session creates meaningful connections through interactive engagement—this is not simply “live-streamed” content but a genuine meeting of hearts and minds.

As pioneers in creating meaningful online Jewish spaces, we’ve discovered that virtual gatherings can foster authentic community when approached with intention. Our sessions are warm, welcoming, and soulful.

We welcome all who wish to explore Judaism’s depths through study and practice. Whether you’re deepening an established connection or just beginning to learn about Jewish tradition, you’ll find a home here.

Path With Heart

Hineni is Hebrew for I Am Present

Hineni” – Judaism’s powerful expression of full presence – forms the foundation of our community. Together, we cultivate being present through life’s transitions, challenges and joys.

Life brings journeys we choose and those that choose us. In challenging times, we decide how to navigate forward.

Some face personal transitions – loss, illness, aging. Others feel the weight of societal divisions or environmental concerns. Most of us bear both the personal and collective simultaneously.

While we cannot control what happens to us, as Viktor Frankl observed, between what happens in our lives and how we react lies a precious space of choice.

In Hineni, we explore this space where choice lives. Weaving Jewish wisdom with poetry and music, we transform ancient teachings into living practices that foster connection, compassion, and authentic presence in each moment.

(I am Present)

I enjoy being a part of Hineni. I love the connections with poetry, music, and the scholars from centuries ago, and how you can relate to their ideas today.
